Pentomino Consecutive
It should be noted that the example requires three pentominoes to be placed. (Of course we can see that, but this is quite an important example, I remember missing the "different sets" condition in London.

Pentomino Rooms
The rules say "not counting the room itself", but the example seems to count the room itself.

Pentomino Snakes
Can clues look past other clues? I.e., in the example, could R3C3 have remained empty in favour of R3C5 (assuming the other rules weren't violated)?

Yes - 3 in the example and 5 in the competition puzzle.

Good point, thank you.

Here are the updated instructions:
Dividing walls are to be placed in the grid such that all clue numbers represent the number of rooms which can be seen in any of the four directions from that location, counting the room the clue number is in.
